From Burn to Jelly

I know I haven't posted in a while. To tell you the truth I haven't done much to post about. I've been doing really bad with it all. I guess the first 25 lbs came off so easy that I thought the last 25 would too. Ha ha ha. This 25 will probably be the hardest. It's the baby weight from our 3 year old. I finaly realized that I'm going to have to work extra hard for this. So, today I started.
Today's work out burned a lot. I kept on pushing through the burn and then it didn't burn anymore. Sounds great but the burn turned into the jelly feeling. Yippy, trying to do wall sits while your legs are shaking and feel like jelly. It's kind of scary at first, but so cool at the same time.
Today's workout (4 sets - 30 second surges, 30 second rests, 1 minute break)

Hip Extensions
Squats
Plie Squats
Wall Squats with Ball
Wall Sits

That takes about 30 minutes. Then I added abs, another 30 minutes.

Ball Crunches
Ball Obliques
Bicycles
Caption's Chair
Reverse Crunch
Side Plank

Click for directions for leg excercises and ab excercises. I did modify some a little bit. Like doing the crunches and obliques on a ball. Tomorrow I'll feel the hurt. I can't wait. :)

Until next time, keep up the healthy lifestyle and remember it's worth it fo get healthy. Good luck with your weight loss goals.

Ouch Ouch Ouch!!

Yesterday I did a different lower body workout and holy cow!! It took me about 30 minutes to do it all and none of the moves hurt or made my muscles feel real tired. All day my legs did feel kind of jell-o like. I had shopping to do and had a chiro apt. So, a bit more activity than a normal day for me. Well, later that evening I was hanging clothes and oh my quads were a little tight. As the evening progressed my legs got tighter and tighter. I knew it was going to be a rough morning. I decided to make the day after lower body a rest day. I could hardly get out of bed to turn the alarm off. I think I'm going to change it to a 15 minute workout instead doing 1 set of surges for each move.

Here's what I did:
5 minute warm up
4 - 20 sec surges with 20 sec rest between surges of 1 legged squats
20 sec rest
4 - 20 sec surges with 20 sec rest between surges of single leg calf raises
20 sec rest

4 - 20 sec surges with 20 sec rest between surges of lunges
20 sec rest

4 - 20 sec surges with 20 sec rest between surges of inner thigh
20 sec rest

4 - 20 sec surges with 20 sec rest between surges of outter thigh
20 sec rest
Repeat

Back at it

Ahhh. I just got done during my workout. It felt so good. Taking that week off was great. I did gain two pounds but, if you saw the way I was eating this weekend you'd be surprised it was only two pounds. :)
This weekend our daughter decided that she wanted to wear her princess dresses all day. I'm not sure what prompted her to do this but she did. She was such a cutie dancing, taking care of her baby, wearing her kid high heels and beating up monsters. She doesn't need Prince Charming to save her. Prince Charming needs her to save him. That's my girl!! Anyway, we were watching Bulging Brides later and I decided to try on my wedding dress. If I could get it on somewhat we could play princess. Oh Lord!! Not good. We couldn't even get it zipped a little. The top kept falling over so there was no way I could wear it around the house and play. Damn! I told our daughter that as soon as I fit in the dress again I would wear it when we play princess. So there we go. A new goal. Fit in that expensive dress I wore once that is taking up a lot of space in my closet.
I have posted pictures in my album.

Taking a break

This week started out not so good. Our 4 month old hasn't been sleeping so well so I decided to hell with it. I'm taking a break. Yep, 1 week of no exercise and kind of eating whatever I want. I'm still eating healthy meals but if I want a can of pop, I'll have it. If I want some cookies, I'll eat them. Today I'm really feeling the effects of eating all the junk. I'm super sluggish, my stomach feels yucky, my whole body aches. I've been making sure that my weight doesn't vary too much so that I'm not taking steps back. The whole point of this is to just give my body a break so I can go back and hit it hard and, hopefully, get over this slow weight loss. I hope this works.

Eeks

I've seemed to have dropped the ball when it comes to updating. My change of lifestyle seems to be taking a slight turn for the worse. With breastfeeding I really notice it because my little guy spits up a lot when I'm eating crap. I've been feeling a bit down this month and I know that shouldn't be an excuse for eating bad. I have some personal issues that I'm having to deal with and it's very hard. I'm just throwing my arm up and saying what is this all for? I've been exercising everyday but when I'm exercising I'm thinking about this issue of mine. I've been putting on this front that everything is peachy but its not so much. I had a very close friend of mine move away over the summer. At first it wasn't too hard but time is going by I'm missing this individual more and more. This person was like my best friend. Anytime I wanted to rant about something and my husband didn't understand or was tired of listening to me ( I can go on for days about things sometimes) this person would listen.
I know it sounds crazy like, how can someone miss another this much if they are just friends. Believe me it can happen. We worked together so I saw this person everyday. Now that we don't I'm lucky if I get to talk to this person once a month. They have a new job and a new baby.
Well, thank you for listening. Maybe this is all that I needed to do to get rid of this feeling and have my motivation restored.
I did go 2 weeks of eating very healthy and what got me on that was noticing that my baby spits up so one morning when we were getting ready to go I promised him that I was going to eat healthy. Anytime I was going to grab something bad I remembered that and there is something about breaking a promise to a 4 month old that just seems really wrong.
Anyone that find eating healthy a problem try what I did. Find someone that you can't break a promise to and promise you won't eat bad. It just might work.

Feeling Blah

The holidays are over and I feel soo blah now. I was on break from school so I didn't have my normal routine for 2 weeks. Now I'm back in school and it's hard to get into that routine. New Year's Day we sat around and did nothing but eat "junk" food then it all caught up with me. I woke up Saturday with a stuffy nose and sore throat. Sunday I added a headache. Luckily my husband let me sleep pretty much all day and only needed me to nurse the baby. The headache went away but I still wake up with a sore throat. It's hard to go down and work out when you're not feeling 100%. One great thing is that after I'm done with my workout in the morning I feel GREAT! Something about sweating up a storm before your morning shower just feels great.
Well, that's all for today.
