One Day Closer

I got my butt out of bed this morning!! That's great compared to last week. Today I did 4 sets of 4 - 30 second surges on the elliptical. I was downstairs long because A) my little man woke up and wanted to nurse when my alarm went off and B) I really didn't want to workout. I'm not going to cover it up. I just wanted to sleep, but as I sat there with him I was thinking of going back to sleep but then started feeling guilty about not working out. So, I decided I'd just go for a little while. Now, I'm happy I worked out and I feel pretty good. A little stinky, but good.

My Jillian Michaels DVDs should be shipping from Amazon tomorrow. I hope to have them by next week. Having them this weekend would be great. We are taking my brother to a tournament in Des Moines and will have plenty of time to watch them.

I can smell the wonderful scent of coffee, so I better get a move on now. Until next time, keep up the hard work and you will be at your goal weight/size before you know it. Just take it one day at a time.

Bad Eating

Well, I had a bad weekend. I ate a lot of not so good things. I just need to get peace in my mind and I'll be good to go. With being sick last weekend, I had to spend one day last week doing catch up work and then had to work extra hard this weekend getting school work done. Now, I'm all caught up and we have healthy foods in the house again. Last week we kept pushing off shopping and my healthy lifestyle paid the price.

I know I've said this before but I have to recommit myself to this healthy lifestyle. Our friends have opened their Chiropractic practice and we have jumped aboard the train to health in that aspect. I just have to do it the rest of the way. I did it before and really enjoyed the healthy lifestyle and didn't want to stop but something happened and I'm not sure what. Maybe it was being around people that didn't share the same lifestyle and it is really hard to sit there and not eat anything while they are chowing down on chips and cookies. Ohhhhh it's hard.

I did upper body and abs today. It's kind of hard to type right now, as my arms are a little jelly like. I should be getting my DVDs in a few days and I'm very excited. I just love Jillian's body. I want to be ripped like her. I know that my stomach won't look like hers but I think the rest of me has a pretty good chance.

Well, that's all for today. Until next time, keep up the hard work and you will be at your goal weight/size before you know it.
Just take it one day at a time.

I Broke

I finally broke. I swore I wasn't going to buy any workout DVDs or equipment. I did break today and bought Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism workout DVDs. I got hooked watching The Biggest Loser and I love her attitude as a trainer. I didn't want to start using DVDs because I wanted this blog to be about workouts you can do at home that don't cost any money. I was planning on only getting the 30 Day Shred but to get free shipping I needed to add .04 to my order. I hope to get the DVDs next week so I can start using them. I'm not 100% sure if I'm just going to follow the DVDs or just do the moves for my surges. I will more than likely post what the moves are so you can do them too and not have to spend any money.
I'm so excited to lose these last 20 - 25 lbs. I know that if I really stick with it I can achieve these results in a month or 2.
Until next time, keep up the hard work and you will be at your goal weight/size before you know it. Just take it one day at a time.

The FAST Weight Loss Plan

I have recommitted to my weight loss goals and I'm doing really well. I ate healthy all last week. We went to my in-laws and I had to stop in Des Moines to meet with one of my teachers. We packed; string cheese, carrots, radishes and hard boiled eggs for breakfast and snacks. We munched on those and then for a late lunch we ate at a 50's diner. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. So, that was one of my cheat meals. I hadn't had any all week so I could use them up on the weekend. We ended up going out for supper with my in-laws and I had a burger and salad.
Saturday morning was rough. Our 3 year old was up all night sick. This was the first time she'd ever been sick so it was rough, she was scared. Cinnamon rolls, string cheese, and a swig of Dr. Pepper for breakfast. I wasn't feeling too good either. I laid around feeling nauseous, and then, around lunch time, I decided to go out and get some fresh air and to stop fighting the urge of getting sick. I was out of commission the rest of the day. The next morning I weighed myself and I had lost 9 lbs from Friday night!!! Yippy I broke the 150 barrier and was happy.
Monday morning I was feeling a lot better and weighed in at 148 lbs. Today I think I'm 149. I am taking advantage of being used to the hungry feeling and letting myself get hungry before eating. And, when I do eat, I eat very small portions just like when you start eating again after being sick. I refuse to go over the 150 mark again.

I really don't recommend the getting sick method to lose weight fast. It's not exactly healthy, but if you do happen to get sick take the positive out of it. Eat cheat food and it doesn't count if it comes back up again. :)

It Doesn't Hurt

Yesterday I did one hell of a leg workout. I figured I'd be really sore, but I'm not. I stayed up late last night working on homework and our little guy decided to wake up every hour. Needless to say, I haven't done my cardio workout today. It's supposed to be super nice and my mother is watching my kids so I can do more homework so I might go for a run in a little bit. My cardio workout will be
11 sets of 4 - 30 second surges, 4 - 30 second rest, 1 minute break
with a 5 minute warmup and about a 5 minute cooldown.
This should take an hour total.

From Burn to Jelly

I know I haven't posted in a while. To tell you the truth I haven't done much to post about. I've been doing really bad with it all. I guess the first 25 lbs came off so easy that I thought the last 25 would too. Ha ha ha. This 25 will probably be the hardest. It's the baby weight from our 3 year old. I finaly realized that I'm going to have to work extra hard for this. So, today I started.
Today's work out burned a lot. I kept on pushing through the burn and then it didn't burn anymore. Sounds great but the burn turned into the jelly feeling. Yippy, trying to do wall sits while your legs are shaking and feel like jelly. It's kind of scary at first, but so cool at the same time.
Today's workout (4 sets - 30 second surges, 30 second rests, 1 minute break)

Hip Extensions
Squats
Plie Squats
Wall Squats with Ball
Wall Sits

That takes about 30 minutes. Then I added abs, another 30 minutes.

Ball Crunches
Ball Obliques
Bicycles
Caption's Chair
Reverse Crunch
Side Plank

Click for directions for leg excercises and ab excercises. I did modify some a little bit. Like doing the crunches and obliques on a ball. Tomorrow I'll feel the hurt. I can't wait. :)

Until next time, keep up the healthy lifestyle and remember it's worth it fo get healthy. Good luck with your weight loss goals.
